    A charming little early English silver mug of plain form. The body is raised from sheet and has a simple strap handle and an incised, reeded neck. This is the earliest type of mug. Contains 50 cc. Weight 27 grams. Height 4.25 cms. Diameter 4 cms. Spread across handle 6.25 cms. Sterling silver. Full English hallmarks for London 1683. Makers mark “C” enclosing “K” (see Jacksons Page 139)*.

    A little period gem. A small rectangular silver snuff box with simple plain styling and gilded interior. Queen Anne or George I period. Weight 37 grams, 1.2 troy ounces. Top measures 5cm x 3.5cm. Stamped inside the base with a single makers mark “IS” with the distinctive swan for John Swann. London circa 1714. Britannia standard silver.

    A well proportioned antique silver mug of baluster shape on a spreading foot. Excellent quality and nice chunky style. The plain features are typical of the period. To the front there is a large contemporary hand engraved armorial within a decorative cartouche.
    Contains 300ml (just over ½ pint). Weight 258 grams, 8.2 troy ounces. Height 9.9cm (to top of handle). Spread 11cm. Diameter 7.1cm (top), 7.5cm (base). London 1731. Maker “F.S”. Sterling silver.

    A delightful antique sterling silver mug with embossed decoration of children and putti. Fantastic quality, even the handle is in the form of a putti, and there are face masks around the base. To the front is an ornamental cartouche (uninscribed). Original interior gilding. No detail has been spared in the manufacture and the mug even has a double skin so that the embossed detail is hidden on the inside. Weight 341 grams, 10.9 troy ounces. Height 9.50 cms.
