    6292 Antique Silver Flask - Eton Harrow Cricket Match at Lords Cricket Ground

    A very collectible item. Of both sporting and military interest. A tall slim flask with a swivel top with safety lock mechanism and detachable drinking cup. This antique sterling silver drinking flask has an engraved presentation inscription “LORDS – Eton v Harrow – 1st Innings 28 – 2nd Innings 81 – 1899”. There is a personalized inscription to Francis Grenfell VC on the reverse. Weight 237 grams, 7.6 troy ounces. Height 23.5 cms. Diameter of base 4.75 cms. Birmingham 1893. Maker LG.

    An elegant pair of antique opera glasses with extending lorgnette handle. Made of gilt brass metal with real mother of pearl binocular tops and handle, the body and handle mounts with pretty yellow enamel decoration. Small size. Measures – width 9.2 cm, closed height 4.2 cm, extended height 5.8 cm. Spread with handle extended 22 cm. Probably French. Circa 1900. Retailer’s mark Au Bon Marche, Bruxelles.

    A superb antique sterling silver cup and cover with steeple top. Gilt silver. Outstanding quality and decorative detail. The base has a presentation inscription to the actress Anna Neagle from the popular magazine Picturegoer and Film Weekly for her performance in Courtneys of Curzon Street 1947.     An excellent quality antique silver vase modelled after the famous Roman antiquity discovered at Tivoli during the 18th century. Heavy gauge silver and exquisite detail. Small size. Of typical campana form with entwined vine handles, the vase is applied with Bacchanalian heads and flaming torches, below which there is a lion’s head and paws to front and back on a background of hand executeded lion’s “fur”.
