    A massive novelty silver jug in the form of Napoleon Bonaparte, the iconic French statesman and military leader. Suitable for wine, beer and water. Superb bright gilt finish and excellent quality modelling and chased detail. Napoleon is wearing full dress regalia, with epaulettes and the trademark bicorne hat, he is sitting on a military drum. Contains 1700 ml. Weight 996 grams, 32 troy ounces. Height 31.5cm. Spread 18.5cm. Diameter of drum 10cm. Stamped underneath with German silver marks (crown and moon) and the silver grade 800*.     A magnificent large antique sterling silver wine jug of elegant shaped form on pedestal foot. The hinged lid, with ornate flower encrusted finial, opens by squeezing the handle mechanism. Beautifully chased with flowers, swirls and leaves, the jug has a cartouche to both sides (uninscribed). To the front there is an applied animals head and both sides of each cartouche there is a winged figure. Weight 1231 grams, 39.5 troy ounces. Height 37 cms. London 1893. Maker W & J Barnard.

    A pretty 19th century claret jug with decorative silver mount and pedestal foot. Original gilt inside the lid. The silver mounts have naturalistic sea spray decoration, the top with a cartouche to the front having engraved initials and the base with the inscription “Bordeaux 1899”. The lid has a shell finial. The glass body has deep swirls which compliment the silver design. Contains 750 ml. Height 29 cms. Diameter of base 8.5 cms. Marked on lid, neck and base with French silver stamps and makers mark RB within a lozenge. Circa 1900.

Very pleasing design with lifelike detail in the face and all-over chased fur. The head is removable so that the body can be used as a decanter and the head as a cup; it pours beautifully. The interior is gilded. Contains 1 litre. Weight 1407 grams, 45.2 troy ounces. Height 24.5cm. Width between the paws 13.5cm. German Hanau silver marks. Probably Neresheimer. Circa 1900.

This stylish bar set in the form of a ship’s bucket has a coopered body made of solid wood panels held together with silver plated metal bands and has a chunky rope handle. Holds up to 3 standard wine bottles. The multi-purpose bottom section swivels out and can be used to contain bar items, bottle openers, cigars, playing cards etc. Above the swivel drawer, engraved to the silver plated band, are the British patent numbers “Rd90495 DEPOSE Rd90496”.     A particularly rare novelty cocktail shaker in the form of a 1930s fire extinguisher. Eight classic cocktail recipes are revealed by simply turning the base. In addition, there is a cigar lighter hidden inside the top – just undo the little screw nut to find the wick. Asprey & Co. introduced the satisfyingly expensive ‘Thirst Extinguisher’ to their luxury range in 1932. Height 41 cms. Silver plated.

    A collectors item. An unusual version of the “The Master Incolor Cocktail Shaker” without the revolving recipe top. This is the black and ivory coloured example from the master incolor series of art deco cocktail shakers made from bakelite and silver plate. With internal strainer and pourer with a little spoutcap. The top cup also serves as a drinks measure. Height 29 cms. Marked “Made in England. Patent pending. Patent no. 4277237”.
