    A very elegant antique silver tea caddy of oval form with hinged lid and interior divider for green and black tea. Fully locking with a key supplied. Nice dainty size. The box has beautiful hand engraved decoration of flower swags, bands of bright cut engraving top and bottom, and an oval cartouche front and back containing an armorial for the Lunden family with crest and motto. The lid has a flush inset hinge and urn shaped finial. Weight 279 grams, 8.9 troy ounces. Base 10.8cm. Height 12.5cm to top of finial. London 1791. Maker Peter and Anne Bateman.     10252 Set of 4 Antique Silver Trefid Spoons

    Sold

    An excellent quality harlequin set of antique silver serving spoons with shaped handle terminals known as “trefid” form. Bright gilt finish. All with a deeply chased pattern of scroll and foliate designs on a stipple engraved ground, and a hand engraved crest of a lion holding a rose. These spoons were expertly remodelled during the 19th century from plain Hanoverian pattern spoons and fitted into a presentation box. Total weight 216 grams, 6.9 troy ounces. Length 20cm.     A stunning quality Russian silver coffee jug with excellent deep chased decoration incorporating foliate scrolls and the traditional Russian eagle to the front and reverse sides. The bulbous lid has a distinctive onion form. No expense has been spared with the rich bright gilding which even extends to the inside of the pot and lid. Contains 1200ml. Total weight (including wooden handle and lid finial) 724 grams, 23 troy ounces. Height 26.5 (to top of finial). Spread 21cm. Moscow. Circa 1770.     A rare early English silver snuffers and stand dating to the early 1700’s. The base, with a cast hexagonal stepped base and baluster stem, has the typical style of the candlesticks of this period. The snuffer scissors, known also as wick trimmers, sit longways in the stand, and the pointed end fits snugly into the stand’s retaining slot. Total weight 328 grams, 10.5 troy ounces. Height 22cm.     An antique sterling silver ladle inset with a 22 carat solid gold guinea dated 1691. Elegant, slim design with a twisted horn handle and silver tip. The gold coin bears the heads of King William and Queen Mary of King George to the front, and on the reverse there are armorials for England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, and the date “1691”.
