    8849 Antique Queen Anne Style Silver Monteith Bowl

    A large and handsome antique sterling punch bowl in the early 18th century style with lions mask side handles, typical ribbed body decoration and a decorative cartouche to the front. The shaped scalloped rim is detachable; this is used to hold stem glasses, punch ladle and lemon squeezer and a bowl of this type is referred to as a Monteith. Weight of silver 3426 grams, 110 troy ounces. Height 19 cms (without rim), 25 cms (with rim), diameter 37 cms. London 1877. Maker Charles Stuart Harris.

    9286 Antique Silver Wager Cup

    An antique silver model of a windmill mounted on a wine cup. Hand engraved. Beautifully constructed with multiple moving parts. The windmill house is reached by a staircase with two sculptured figures climbing up, on one side there is a man peeping out of a small window. The revolving windmill sails connect to the clock hands on the other side and both move together. The roof is mounted with a revolving flag, a tiny bird and a sculptured finial. There is a horn which is non-functional. Weight 203 grams, 6.5 troy ounces. Height 22.5 cm. Diameter of cup 8.5 cm. Fully stamped with Dutch silver marks fpr Amsterdam. Circa 1890.

    A fine antique sterling silver wine ewer of tall elegant vase form standing on a ribbed pedestal foot. The body is finely engraved with bands of leaves and scrolls. A very nice feature is the little model bird at the base of the handle. The lid and interior of the jug is gilded and has a free form pouring mechanism. Weight 834 grams, 26.8 troy ounces.     A magnificent large antique sterling silver wine jug of elegant shaped form on pedestal foot. The hinged lid, with ornate flower encrusted finial, opens by squeezing the handle mechanism. Beautifully chased with flowers, swirls and leaves, the jug has a cartouche to both sides (uninscribed). Each set consists of a sterling silver fork, spoon and steel knife, all with a handle which unscrews, a silver handled travelling corkscrew and a three section sterling silver condiment barrel. All contained in a sterling silver beaker with all over engine turned decoration. Each piece is silver hallmarked for London 1866 and has monogram engraved in old fashioned script.
