    A rare George II sterling silver basket of oval form with swing handle. Excellent weight and colour. The basket has a pierced body with a vine decorated cast silver border and it stands on four cast lions paw feet. At this time baskets were used mainly for bread and fruit. The swing handle features a finely modelled animals head to both sides just above the hinges. The centre has a large hand engraved cartouche enclosing an armorial and above is the motto “Luceat et Crescat”. Weight 1600 grams, 51.4 troy oz.     A fine antique sterling silver bullet shape teapot. Lovely plain shape with a straight spout and inset hinge. To the front there is a hand engraved armorial. This is a very early teapot. Although a few 17th century teapots exist there is very little likelihood of finding one before 1710. The earlier the teapot the smaller they tend to be as tea was a very expensive commodity until the middle of the reign of George I. Weight 393 grams, 12.6 troy ounces. Height 10.5 cms. Spread 21 cms.     7869 George III Old Sheffield Plate and Tortoiseshell Snuff Box

    A very early example of Old Sheffield Plate. A rare antique snuff box of circular shape with chased flowers and leaves and a pull off lid. The lid has an inlaid tortoiseshell top with silver pique decoration of the Fox and Crane fable. The base is made from pressed horn. Diameter 5.5 cms. Height 2.3 cms. Circa 1760. No makers mark.

    A late-17th/early-18th century Danish silver peg tankard of plain cylindrical form raised on three stylish pomegranate ball feet. Large size and heavy weight. The domed cover is deeply embossed with a decorative border of foliate scrolls around a central hand engraved armorial dated 1701, the scroll handle has a thumb piece modelled as a rampant lion holding a large ball. Contains 2000ml. Weight 1443gms, 46.4 troy oz. Height 22.5cm (9ins). Diameter of top 15 cms (6 ins). Marked underneath with the initials “CK” for Christian Knudsen, Denmark, active 1698-1718.

    An excellent quality antique silver condiment bottle set. The 2 handled stand has a plain style and shaped reeded borders. The cut crystal oil and vinegar bottles have a circular form and pretty flower and leaf cutting. The heavy silver bottle tops fit snugly and sit into the holders on the side of the stand when the bottles are in use. Weight of frame and bottle tops 674 grams, 21.6 troy ounces. The matching pair of rectangular caddies (for green and black tea) have sliding tops, the larger square sugar box has a hinged lid. Cast silver flower finials. The deep embossed and engraved decoration is particularly attractive; each caddy has a front and back panel decorated with a Chinese man and garden setting, the side panels with flower and foliage, the corners with shell and fish scale ornament.
