    A lovely little antique sterling silver teapot with hinged lid and flower finial. Nice small size. Circular ribbed form and hand engraved deep borders with scroll decoration. To the front there is a hand engraved crest of a bird above the motto “mea gloria fides” meaning “our faith in glory”. Contains 650 ml. Weight 421 grams, 13.5 troy ounces. Height 12 cms (to top of handle). Spread 19.5 cms. Marked underneath for London 1865. Maker Goldsmith Alliance.

    A rare set of antique sterling silver owl condiments. All in a fitted case, retailed by Asprey. The matching set consists of an owl sugar caster, owl salt shaker and pair of owl peppers. All with glass button eyes and finely chased decorative detail. Castor – 102 grams, 3.2 troy ounces, height 11 cms. Salt – 41 grams, 1.3 troy ounces, height 7.5 cms.     A collector’s item. A Victorian silver novelty cream boat in the form of a duck with finely engraved feather decoration. Original gilt interior, the beak and eyes are also gilded. Excellent quality and heavy weight. This delightful piece was originally intended for serving cream or sauce however it would be equally suited for use with dried flowers or as a dressing table tidy etc. Weight 120 grams, 3.8 troy ounces.     An outstanding quality antique sterling silver tea service of gourd shape, depicting Teniers style Dutch tavern scenes. The sides are deeply chased in relief, the handles cast as drunken peasants perched on tree branches, the teapot and coffee pot with ivory insulators and drunken figure finials, original pale gilt interiors. The drunken revellers are drinking, playing music, playing cards, womanising; there is a mother and child, even a giant dog. Every scene is different. The teapot and milk jug a have Bacchus face mask mounted spout. This very heavy set weighs 4,024 grams, 129.3 troy ounces. Teapot height 19.5 cms, spread 26 cms.     From a design by Dr Christopher Dresser. An antique silver plated automobile set beautifully arranged with many of the pieces slotting inside each other. All in the original leather covered carrying case. Each piece with an engraved monogram and crest. There is a similar set by Dr Christopher Dresser in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (see photos). Kettle height 9 cms (14.5 cms with handle), contains 1 pint. Teapot height 7.5 cms, contains half a pint. Stamped underneath with silver plate stamps for Hukin and Heath, a design number and a Victorian registration mark. Circa 1890.

    A large antique Tibetan or Nepalese silver teapot with a domed lid, originally attached with a chain, and matching teapot stand. Very heavy gauge silver. Interesting style combining both Indian and Chinese influences. The handle is modelled as a dragon’s head with a curved neck and scales, the spout has animal decoration, the body has traces of an engraved or embossed decoration. The teapot has an unusual base formation (see photos) which sits onto an elaborate matching stand. The lid and teapot stand both have a decorative circular motif. Contains 1400 ml. Weight 1393 grams, 44.7 troy ounces. Height 21 cms. Spread 29 cms. Stamped underneath with 2 characters, probably the makers mark. Circa 1900.

The decoration is very charming with the palm tree forest inhabited by elephants, lions, rabbits, a boy with a spear and a deity with wings. Contains 750 ml. Weight 515 grams, 16.5 troy ounces.     An excellent copy of an antique Queen Anne sterling silver teapot (Queen Anne reigned 1702-1714). This plain baluster style with a domed lid and octagonal panelling was the first form of teapot introduced into England. The earlier the teapot the smaller it tended to be because tea was a very expensive commodity until the middle of the reign of King George III. Contains 440 ml. Weight 384 grams, 12.3 troy ounces.     Of colonial interest. A delightful antique silver teapot with embossed decoration all over of a hunting scene. With an elephant finial and stylised elephant handle and spout. The body has an interesting decoration of a jungle inhabited by elephants, lions and wild cows; to one side there is an elephant, with his mahout, and riding on the howdah* a hunter is taking aim at a group of lions, on the other side the man on horseback is shooting a gun and is accompanied by his hunting dog. Weight 547 grams, 17.5 troy ounces. Height 11 (to top of finial). Spread 23.5 cms. Stamped underneath with Indian silver marks for Bombay. Circa 1900.
