A rare Irish provincial sterling silver serving spoon with a sought after Cork makers mark. Long length. Plain style with an initial in old fashioned script hand engraved to the handle. Weight 64 grams, just over 2 troy ounces. Top 8×5 cms. Height 2 cms. Makers mark stamped inside cover and side, VR under crown, this maker worked in Paris and Geneva, 1790-1805. Belgian import marks stamped to the side. High grade gold, probably 18 carat.

To both sides there is a fine hand engraved armorial topped by a large crown (same as the lid finial). To the lid there is a hand engraved double lion crest, also topped by the family crown.
