Excellent quality design with Corinthian capitals, tall reeded columns and square plinths applied with laurel wreaths. The bases retain their original cast iron stability weights. Early Victorian. Height 58cm (63cm with electrical fitting). Width of base 16.5cm. Circa 1840. Unmarked. These lamps are being sold as decorative items only and have no electrical wiring.

    A curious little silver container in the form of a small teapot with a serpent spout and handle, four heavy cast eagle feet, and the lid finial modelled as a swan. 19th century. Fantastic decorative quality and heavy gauge silver. Likely to be an oil dispenser (oliera), possibly to fill something like a kettle spirit lamp. Contains 320ml. Weight 519 grams, 16.6 troy ounces.     A magnificent antique sterling silver dumb waiter standing tall with a decorative column mounted with 2 graduated serving plates. Excellent heavy quality and attention to detail as you’d expect from this top quality silver company. The pierced dishes have a broad, peacock tail decorated border which mingles with the inner gothic design. The column is monumental, superbly decorated, and finishes at the base with four protruding lions masks. The heavy circular base repeats the above theme and also has four lions head masks.     A very smart antique silver tray of oval shape with a bevelled glass centre and silver ball feet. The pierced silver gallery has a bead border, interlaced scroll design and inset carrying handles. Underneath the border is reinforced with a brass ring. Length 56.5 cm. Width 42 cm. Height 6 cm. Stamped on the side of the handles with Dutch silver marks and the date letter “L” for 1845. Silver grade 934 (this is purer than sterling silver which is 925 parts out of 1000).

    A delightful antique silver box with attractive and very detailed engraved decoration. The top is decorated in the traditional silver and black niello with a courting couple in a strange rocky landscape and, in the background there is a tall building on a stippled ground (with minor traces of gilt). The base is equally beautiful with a young man holding a bouquet of flowers. The sides are engraved with lots of small houses. The interior has the original gilding. Weight 60 grams, 1.9 troy ounces. Top measures 6.3 x 4.5 cms. Height 1.5 cms. Top and bottom marked with Russian silver marks – makers mark, 84 grade, date mark badly struck circa 1850.
