The lid has a hand engraved cartouche, with tassles and a bishop’s hat, containing an armorial almost certainly for Bishop Dominique d’Inguimbert. Weight 618 grams, 19.8 troy ounces. Height 9.2cm. Spread across handles 28cm. Diameter 16.3cm. Marked on both pieces with French provincial silver marks for the ancient French town Carpentras. Maker Pierre Liotard. Circa 1760.

The set comprises 6 knives with steel blades, 6 forks with steel two prong tines, and 6 solid silver spoons. Each with a hand engraved crown over a monogram. A very usable set. Marked “13” and with makers initials “IK”. Probably German, circa 1800.

Engraved to each top rim there is a superb coat of arms to one side and a cross arrows crest (crowned) to the other side. Terrific quality. They are numbered on the underside (originally a very large set). There is an inscription on the underside of two of the plates. Total weight 3031 grams, 97.4 troy ounces. Diameter 25 cms. Also stamped on the rim and underneath with the tax mark “FW” for King Friedrich Wilhelm 1809-1812.

The applied lions mask mounts and paw feet are of excellent quality. Each has, to the front and back, a large hand engraved armorial supported by a lion and griffin. The motto “Sic Donec” means “So Until”. Total weight 2249 grams, 72.3 troy ounces. Top rim measures 25.5 x 20.5 cms. Height 9 cms. London 1819. An exceptionally fine pair of antique sterling silver sauce tureens of oval form on shaped claw feet. The quality and gauge of silver needs to be seen to be believed. Each tureen is decorated with broad shell and gadroon borders and the shell motif is repeated on the handles and feet. Engraved to both sides of each tureen there is a large hand engraved armorial and to each top there’s a double engraved crest. Motto “Je me fie en dieu”. These are the arms of the Windsor family, the royal house of Great Britain. Weight 2599 grams, 83.5 troy ounces. Height 15.5 cms. Spread 24 cms. Length 19 cms. Width 13.5 cms. The lids are numbered 2 and 3, so they are part of a larger set, London 1811. Maker Thomas Robins, known for his good quality dinner wares.

An excellent quality antique silver condiment bottle set. The boat shaped stand has rope twist borders and decorative pierced ends with applied leaf and grape mounts. The cut crystal oil and vinegar bottles have faceted necks and pretty raised bow ornaments. The heavy silver bottle tops fit snugly and sit into the holders on the side of the stand when the bottles are in use. There is a good armorial engraved within the cartouche on the front of the stand. Weight of frame 652 grams, 20.9 troy ounces. Stand measures – length 31 cms, width 17 cms. Total height 20 cms. Marked on every piece with French silver stamps for Paris 1785.
