    A large and handsome antique sterling punch bowl in the early 18th century style with lions mask side handles, typical ribbed body decoration and a decorative cartouche to the front. The shaped scalloped rim is detachable; this is used to hold stem glasses, punch ladle and lemon squeezer and a bowl of this type is referred to as a Monteith. Weight of silver 3426 grams, 110 troy ounces. Height 19 cms (without rim), 25 cms (with rim), diameter 37 cms. London 1877. Maker Charles Stuart Harris.

    An antique seal with white hard stone handle and solid gold mount. The carved intaglio has an armorial, a horse crest over a crown, and the motto “Con Fide”. The stone handle could be white jade or quartz cabouchon. The intaglio is a creamier white colour and may be rock crystal. Length 6.7 cms. Unmarked gold (15 or 18 carat). French. Circa 1840.

    A large size antique sterling silver cocktail shaker with a hammered finish. An embossed decoration of bamboo stems and leaves curls all the way round the shaker.     A decorative version of the antique silver plated folding biscuit box. It opens to reveal a stunning gilt interior. Attractive shell shape with a decorative cast border frame. The pierced grills keep the biscuits in place and can be lifted to access the contents. Silver plated. Height 24.5 cms. Width 21.5 cms. Underneath there is the unicorn mark for the Cheltenham and Company Ltd, Sheffield, UK. Silver plate on copper. Circa 1875.

    A beautiful antique Bohemian glass vase with engraved panels around the body with architectural scenes. The front panel contains the figure of a Greek deity and there are names etched below the panels. The silver lid is mounted with an entwined serpent and an inset piece of mother of pearl. Height 15.5 cms. Diameter of top 7.5 cms. The lid is marked on the edge with “TF”. Austro Hungarian. Circa 1880.

    A fine quality antique inkstand with an oval pierced gallery. Silver plated. To the centre the cherub figure is holding a taper stick and can be removed to use the circular box below for pen nibs etc. The two crystal faceted ink bottles have silver plated tops and cut star bases. Length 26cms, width 20cms. The edge of the nib box has silver plate marks for Elkington & Co; date cypher for 1849.

    A large and substantial figure of a silver rider on horseback. Excellent quality and heavy gauge. Original gilt finish and jewelling to the clothing and horse harness. Natural stone base. The model is very intricate with many separate pieces assembled together. The head is removable. Weight 1180 grams, 37.9 troy ounces. This weight excludes the onyx base and the two silver hallmarked screw caps. It includes the weight of the two screws soldered to the bottom of the back hooves. Height 28 cm (from base to top of head). Base height 3 cm, length 24 cm, width 13 cm. Marked on the head, harness and horse tail with London import marks for 1896, maker Edwin Thompson Bryant.

    An antique silver model of a windmill mounted on a wine cup. Hand engraved. Beautifully constructed with multiple moving parts. The windmill house is reached by a staircase with two sculptured figures climbing up, on one side there is a man peeping out of a small window. The revolving windmill sails connect to the clock hands on the other side and both move together. The roof is mounted with a revolving flag, a tiny bird and a sculptured finial. There is a horn which is non-functional. Weight 203 grams, 6.5 troy ounces. Height 22.5 cm. Diameter of cup 8.5 cm. Fully stamped with Dutch silver marks fpr Amsterdam. Circa 1890.

To each side there are embossed interior scenes of people in old fashioned clothing; drinking, playing musical instruments and relaxing with animals. Original gilt interior. Marked inside the base with the pseudo marks of Wolf & Knell founded in 1887, merged in 1914 with Gebruder Glaser to form Vereinigte Silberwarenfabriken. Hanau, circa 1900.

Stamped on the mount and top with very small French silver marks, circa 1860.
