8849 Antique Queen Anne Style Silver Monteith Bowl
A large and handsome antique sterling punch bowl in the early 18th century style with lions mask side handles, typical ribbed body decoration and a decorative cartouche to the front. The shaped scalloped rim is detachable; this is used to hold stem glasses, punch ladle and lemon squeezer and a bowl of this type is referred to as a Monteith. Weight of silver 3426 grams, 110 troy ounces. Height 19 cms (without rim), 25 cms (with rim), diameter 37 cms. London 1877. Maker Charles Stuart Harris.

9268 Antique Silver Model Horse and Rider
A large and substantial figure of a silver rider on horseback. Excellent quality and heavy gauge. Original gilt finish and jewelling to the clothing and horse harness. Natural stone base. The model is very intricate with many separate pieces assembled together. The head is removable. Weight 1180 grams, 37.9 troy ounces. This weight excludes the onyx base and the two silver hallmarked screw caps. It includes the weight of the two screws soldered to the bottom of the back hooves. Height 28 cm (from base to top of head). Base height 3 cm, length 24 cm, width 13 cm. Marked on the head, harness and horse tail with London import marks for 1896, maker Edwin Thompson Bryant.

9286 Antique Silver Wager Cup
An antique silver model of a windmill mounted on a wine cup. Hand engraved. Beautifully constructed with multiple moving parts. The windmill house is reached by a staircase with two sculptured figures climbing up, on one side there is a man peeping out of a small window. The revolving windmill sails connect to the clock hands on the other side and both move together. The roof is mounted with a revolving flag, a tiny bird and a sculptured finial. There is a horn which is non-functional. Weight 203 grams, 6.5 troy ounces. Height 22.5 cm. Diameter of cup 8.5 cm. Fully stamped with Dutch silver marks fpr Amsterdam. Circa 1890.

8259 Antique German Silver Double Box
An unusual silver box with domed hinged lids to top and bottom and a double compartment. To each side there are embossed interior scenes of people in old fashioned clothing; drinking, playing musical instruments and relaxing with animals. Original gilt interior. Weight 142 grams, 4.5 troy ounces. Height 7.5 cm. Top measures 7 x 4.5 cm. Marked inside the base with the pseudo marks of Wolf & Knell founded in 1887, merged in 1914 with Gebruder Glaser to form Vereinigte Silberwarenfabriken. Hanau, circa 1900.
9318 Victorian Silver Vinaigrette
Possibly of military interest. A rare barrel shaped antique silver vinaigrette with combination scent bottle and pill box. The vinaigrette has a pretty pierced gilt grill. The quality of this piece is exceptional; the scent flask having a screw lid with integral carrying chain, the two boxes retain their original bright gilt interior. Weight 58 grams, 1.8 troy ounce. Height 5 cm. Width 5 cm. London 1870. Maker “JB”, probably John Brashier. Sterling silver.

An unusual antique sterling silver pin cushion in the form of the Coronation Chair at Westminster Abbey in London. This was made in 1296 for King Edward I to enclose the famous Stone of Scone; the original is made of solid oak and stands on 4 gilt lions. Height 4 cms. Width 2.5 cms.Depth 1.25 cms. 8465 Antique French Silver Scent Bottle
An excellent quality antique scent bottle with a decorative silver mount. The hinged top has a hand engraved design with flowers, leaves and dot scroll work. The oval shaped body is made of multi faceted crystal and typically of the period, has a rounded base which was made to lie down. Traces of the original gilt finish. H 11.2 cms. Width 4 cms. Stamped on the mount and top with very small French silver marks, circa 1860.

A fine antique sterling silver wine ewer of tall elegant vase form standing on a ribbed pedestal foot. The body is finely engraved with bands of leaves and scrolls. A very nice feature is the little model bird at the base of the handle. The lid and interior of the jug is gilded and has a free form pouring mechanism. Weight 834 grams, 26.8 troy ounces. 8806 Antique Gold and Stone Desk Seal
An antique seal with white hard stone handle and solid gold mount. The carved intaglio has an armorial, a horse crest over a crown, and the motto “Con Fide”. The stone handle could be white jade or quartz cabouchon. The intaglio is a creamier white colour and may be rock crystal. Length 6.7 cms. Unmarked gold (15 or 18 carat). French. Circa 1840.

A large size antique sterling silver cocktail shaker with a hammered finish. An embossed decoration of bamboo stems and leaves curls all the way round the shaker. The large top comes off to fill the ingredients and the little top cup comes off for pouring and also serves as a drinks measure. Weight 479 grams, 15.4 troy ounces. Height 23 cm. A decorative version of the antique silver plated folding biscuit box. It opens to reveal a stunning gilt interior. Attractive shell shape with a decorative cast border frame. The pierced grills keep the biscuits in place and can be lifted to access the contents. Silver plated. Height 24.5 cms. Width 21.5 cms. Underneath there is the unicorn mark for the Cheltenham and Company Ltd, Sheffield, UK. Silver plate on copper. Circa 1875.

A beautiful antique Bohemian glass vase with engraved panels around the body with architectural scenes. The front panel contains the figure of a Greek deity and there are names etched below the panels. The silver lid is mounted with an entwined serpent and an inset piece of mother of pearl. Height 15.5 cms. Diameter of top 7.5 cms. The lid is marked on the edge with “TF”. Austro Hungarian. Circa 1880.

Stamped on both sides with Russian silver marks including the grade “84”, town mark, the year 1882 and the makers mark.
