The other candelabrum is Sheffield 1892, maker Hawksworth & Eyre. Both are fully matching.

Decorated in the flamboyant rococo style, the scrolling high relief ornament has fretwork, sea foam and stalactites. Mounted at the top is a winged cherub and below the mirror is a figural plaque.     A beautiful pair of antique opera glasses made of gilt brass metal and enamel. The binocular tops and extension knob are made of real mother of pearl. The pink enamel barrels are covered in gilt stars and have beaded cartouches and borders containing hand painted sprays of multi coloured flowers. The underside is inscribed “REG Armstrong 14.August 1884”. Measures – width 10.4 cm, closed height 6.3 cm, extended height 8.5 cm. Probably French. Circa 1884. The whole frame has magnificent applied decoration in the rococo revival style; the cast pendant floral sprays to the border are particularly stunning.     A massive novelty silver jug in the form of Napoleon Bonaparte, the iconic French statesman and military leader. Suitable for wine, beer and water. Superb bright gilt finish and excellent quality modelling and chased detail. Napoleon is wearing full dress regalia, with epaulettes and the trademark bicorne hat, he is sitting on a military drum. Contains 1700 ml. Weight 996 grams, 32 troy ounces. Height 31.5cm. Spread 18.5cm. Diameter of drum 10cm. Stamped underneath with German silver marks (crown and moon) and the silver grade 800*.     A handsome pair of twin handled Victorian silver sauce tureens of boat shaped form on pedestal feet. Excellent quality and good weight. On a plain relief, the striking decoration incorporates bands of naturalistic motifs applied to lid and body, the handles with naturalistic flowering and trailing vines. Total weight 53.98 troy ounces. Height 7cm (including finial). Spread 15.5cm. London 1852/53. Maker Robert Garrard. Sterling silver.

    Literature. Small sized covered tureens appeared circa 1760 and were used to serve sauces and gravy. The lid /cover helped to keep the contents warm.

    A very fine quality pair of antique Viennese carved ivory figures, studded with gemstones, and mounted on enamelled silver pedestal bases. Each figure carries a silver and enamel wickerwork pannier and holds a silver basket filled with hardstone fruits. The man also holds a pearl and gemstone mounted silver walking stick. The enamelled silver bases are studded with large stones and mounted with dark blue hardstone tops. Height 23.5/21.5cm. Base 11.5 x 11cm. Silver marked with Austrian control marks. Vienna, circa 1890.

    This is a superb solid silver galleon ship (traditionally known as a Nef), intricately modelled and shown in full sail. Excellent size and quality throughout. The top section of the Neff can be removed from the hull revealing an open compartment or space. The hull is finely chased with cherubs and leaves, flowers and scrolls.     A splendid antique silver drinks flask in the form of a standing bear with outstretched paws. Excellent quality and heavy gauge cast silver. Very pleasing design with lifelike detail in the face and all-over chased fur. The head is removable so that the body can be used as a decanter and the head as a cup; it pours beautifully. The interior is gilded. Contains 1 litre. Weight 1407 grams, 45.2 troy ounces. Height 24.5cm. Width between the paws 13.5cm. German Hanau silver marks. Probably Neresheimer. Circa 1900.
