    A fine and realistic antique tortoise table bell modelled with a solid sterling silver shell and a body made from bronze effect steel. The underside holds a clockwork winding mechanism that sounds the bell when the head or the tail is pressed. Spread 17.5 cms. Height 6 cms. Shell measures 9.3 x 11.5 cms. Silver hallmarked on the shell for Chester 1912. Silver makers mark and stamped underneath for maker Grey & Co.

    8816 9 Carat Gold Extending Ruler

    A stylish telescopic solid gold ruler with an ivory button dating from the 1920s era. The measure opens out into 3 sections measuring one imperial foot in length. When closed the ruler shows the measure 11.5 cms, 4.5 inches; when open it measures 30.5 cms, 12 inches. On one side there is the inscription “One Thousand Square Miles” and on the reverse there is a presentation inscription in script dated 2/2/25. Weight 23 grams (including button).     A tall and impressive table bell with Corinthian column handle surmounted by a girl in classical clothing standing on a globe of the world. The bell is heavily engraved all round with TUC insignias and a presentation inscription to George Hicks, founding member of the British Socialist Party and TUC President 1927-1928.     A magnificent sterling silver model of a knight in armour mounted on a rearing horse. The knight’s helmet has a hinged visor and inside you can see his carved faux ivory face.     An excellent copy of an antique Queen Anne sterling silver teapot (Queen Anne reigned 1702-1714). This plain baluster style with a domed lid and octagonal panelling was the first form of teapot introduced into England. The earlier the teapot the smaller it tended to be because tea was a very expensive commodity until the middle of the reign of King George III. Contains 440 ml. Weight 384 grams, 12.3 troy ounces.
