The cinquefoil frame has 4 shell feet and a shaped decorative cartouche to the front with a hand engraved monogram. The pull off castor tops are prettily pierced and engraved. Total weight of silver 1189 grams, 38.2 troy ounces. Caster height 17 and 13.5 cms. Bottles height 17 cms. London 1752. All by the same maker Samuel Wood, known for his silver casters.

A rare early antique Glasgow silver condiment set consisting of 2 heavily faceted crystal bottles with silver mounts (unmarked) in a heavy sterling silver frame with handsome rococo cartouche and broad shell feet. Either side are ring supports for the bottle tops. Weight of stand 549 grams, 17.6 troy ounces. Total height 22 cms. Stand width 20.75 cms. Bottle height 9 cms, diameter of base 5.5 cms. Stamped underneath with makers mark for Adam Graham 1763 – 1780.

A magnificent example of English rococo silver. An antique sterling silver samovar of inverted baluster form with a folding raffia finish handle, the silver lid finial cast in the form of a little merman drinking from a shell, the curved spout finishing in the form of a bird. Superb quality deep chased decoration with shells, flowers and swirls. Hand engraved to the front is a large family armorial and to the reverse a Scottish sporran crest. The matching stand has an ornate cast and pierced frieze with face masks (to match those on the handle), and stands on large shell feet; the integral oil reservoir has a push on top, both with the sporran crest. Large size and very impressive. A rare antique silver salver, of unusual square waisted form with gadroon borders and shell corners. Heavy gauge silver. The outside centre has a traditional shell and foliate engraved theme with shells and a crest to each corner. Engraved to the centre is a marriage coat of arms with an “escutcheon of pretence”, and the motto “Laudabunt Alii Rhodon” circa 1790. The engraved mantling, of an unfurling ruffle of cloth, is very striking and contemporary to the arms. Weight 2190 grams, 70.4 troy ounces. Height 4.5cm. Width 40cm. London 1755. Very simple and clever manufacture that would suit either a left or righted handed person. Weight 114 grams, 3.6 troy ounces. Length 21.5 cms. One side is stamped with the makers initials “IH” and the lion mark; the other side is double struck with the makers mark. Maker probably John Hague, circa 1760.
