An excellent quality antique Russian silver beaker with a deeply embossed decoration of birds, shells, foliage and scrolls. To the front there is an eagle, to the back there’s a dove. Very heavy gauge silver. Excellent colour. Contains 200 ml. Weight 101 grams, 3.2 troy ounces. Height 8.5 cms. Diameter 6.5 cms. Marked underneath with Russian silver marks and date 1760.

A very charming antique sterling silver snuff box of oval shape with an unusual double flap opening mechanism. Hand engraved on the lid with feather edge borders and an inscription in old fashioned script “A Gift of the Hon. Charles Hamilton To TT*. The underside is engraved with bull crest and the motto “I SAVED THE KING”. Retains the original gilt interior. Weight 75 grams, 2.4 troy ounces. Top 9.5 x 3.3 cms. Height 2.1 cms. Unmarked. English, circa 1760.

A handsome pair of antique sterling silver candelabras with detachable 3 light branches and sconces. Very attractive design with a baluster stem and shaped bases with shell motifs. Heavy cast silver and good colour. The 2 branches can be assembled on one candlestick to make a 5 branch candelabra. Total weight 2755 grams, 88.5 troy ounces. Height 41.5 cm (3 branch candelabra), 48 cm (5 branch candelabra), 22.5 cms (candlesticks). Candlesticks – London 1760 by John Hyatt & Charles Semore. The candelabra branches were made later to match the candlesticks – London 1891 by Johnson Walker & Tolhurst.

A very early example of Old Sheffield Plate. A rare antique snuff box of circular shape with chased flowers and leaves and a pull off lid. The lid has an inlaid tortoiseshell top with silver pique decoration of the Fox and Crane fable. The base is made from pressed horn. Diameter 5.5 cms. Height 2.3 cms. Circa 1760. No makers mark.

18th century French provincial silver. An excellent quality antique silver lidded serving dish with elegant plain style and acanthus leaf side handles. The lid has a hand engraved cartouche, with tassles and a bishop’s hat, containing an armorial almost certainly for Bishop Dominique d’Inguimbert. Weight 618 grams, 19.8 troy ounces. Height 9.2cm. Spread across handles 28cm. Diameter 16.3cm. Marked on both pieces with French provincial silver marks for the ancient French town Carpentras. Maker Pierre Liotard. Circa 1760.

A plain style pair of antique sterling silver asparagus tongs (or chop tongs) with a corrugated inside surface to grip the food. Very simple and clever manufacture that would suit either a left or righted handed person. Weight 114 grams, 3.6 troy ounces. Length 21.5 cms. One side is stamped with the makers initials “IH” and the lion mark; the other side is double struck with the makers mark. Maker probably John Hague, circa 1760.
