    A 19th century Russian (Georgia) silver filigree casket of rectangular form and raised on four scroll feet. The quality of the filigree work is exquisite. The hinged lid with domed centre has an applied flower to each corner and to the centre. There is a folding catch to the front and swing handles either side. Weight 234 grams, 7.5 troy oz. Length 13.5 cm. Width 8.5 cm. height 8.5 cm. Russian silver stamps for Tbilissi, Georgia 1882-1898. 84 zolotnik silver grade*. Maker’s mark KC (KS).

    9248 Antique Charles II Style Silver Porringer and Lid

    An excellent copy of an old English lidded porringer in sterling silver. Decorated to the main body and lid with typical Stuart period decoration, it has large embossed and engraved flowers, a lion to one side and a unicorn to the other. To each side is a scroll handle topped with a cherub’s head. Weight 772 grams, 24.8 troy ounces. Height 16 cm (to top of lid finial), 12 cm (to top of handle). Diameter 13 cm. Spread 21 cm.     A magnificent antique sterling silver samovar with hand chased decoration and folding handle with raffia finish. The matching silver tea kettle stand has an ornate cast and pierced frieze with face masks, and stands on large shell feet; the detachable burner has a rise and fall wick. An excellent piece with heavy gauge silver and good colour. Hand engraved to the front is a large hand engraved armorial with the motto “Pro Rege Lege Grege”. To the reverse is the crest of a serpent over a crown, repeated on the kettle stand. Weight 2120 grams, 68.1 troy ounces. Total height 36cm (to top of handle). London 1815. Maker Robert Garrard.
