The scene is of a classical figure with a pastoral background surrounded by a border of fruit topped by 2 reclining figures, 2 lions to the side and a cherub’s head at the bottom.     A rare piece of English provincial silver. A large and impressive antique sterling silver jug of bellied shape on a flat foot, having a plain body and squared handle. The top and spout have decorative borders and broad bands of foliage, chains and dot engraving. To the front there is a hand engraved foliate cartouche containing a monogram of entwined initials in old fashioned script. Excellent patina and hand beaten finish. Contains 2450 ml.     A handsome antique sterling silver pedestal bowl of circular form with half ribbed body and egg and dart border. Excellent quality and heavy gauge silver. This form is very similar to the Warwick Vase shape. The cast wrythen side carrying handles are embellished with vine leaf and grape ornament making it, together with its weight and campana form, very suitable for use as a small size wine cooler.     6717 Pair of Georgian Silver Sauce Tureens with the Royal Windsor Coat of Arms

    An exceptionally fine pair of antique sterling silver sauce tureens of oval form on shaped claw feet. The quality and gauge of silver needs to be seen to be believed. Each tureen is decorated with broad shell and gadroon borders and the shell motif is repeated on the handles and feet. Engraved to both sides of each tureen there is a large hand engraved armorial and to each top there’s a double engraved crest. Motto “Je me fie en dieu”. These are the arms of the Windsor family, the royal house of Great Britain. Weight 2599 grams, 83.5 troy ounces. Height 15.5 cms. Spread 24 cms. Length 19 cms. Width 13.5 cms. The lids are numbered 2 and 3, so they are part of a larger set, London 1811. Maker Thomas Robins, known for his good quality dinner wares.

    A medium size antique bowl in the Queen Anne style with a detachable shaped rim and lions mask side carrying handles. Lovely ribbed body with decorative cartouches to front and back. The rim is very charming with shaped scrolls and face decoration. This bowl was originally used to hold stem glasses, punch ladle and lemon squeezer. Height 18.5 cms. Diameter 20.5 cms. Circa 1880. Marked underneath. Silver plated.

    A charming plain design double coaster trolley with the unusual feature of a pair of carved wooden wheels underneath. Very nicely made with bead borders, side handles and central buttons with a hand engraved monogram. To the centre there are two scroll holders which hold the decanter stoppers. Total spread across handles 37 cms. Coaster diameter 14 cms. Height 5.5 cms, 8 cms to top of handle. Circa 1820. Old Sheffield plate.

    7776 Antique German Silver Neff Sailing Ship

    Sold

    This is a superb solid silver galleon ship, known as a Nef), with a tall mast having multi section sails, a manned crows nest and rigging. The deck is beautifully modelled with people and equipment – to the rear the captain is steering the ship’s wheel with a lantern behind him, and on the prow a sailor is standing next to the ships cannon, the anchor hangs below. Around the edge of the deck there is a pierced gallery decorated with cherubs and flowers.

    The top section of the Neff can be removed from the hull. The hull of the ship is finely chased with cherubs and leaves, flowers and scrolls and the interior is gilded. The ship stands on four decorative wheels.

    Weight 577 grams, 18.5 troy ounces. Height 24.5 cms. Spread 25 cms. Top of the hull measures 18 x 6 cms. The hull has a set of German hallmarks with maker’s mark for Neresheimer. The bottom edge of the top section has the silver grade “13”. Circa 1900.

    An antique dish cover of curved rectangular form in Old Sheffield plate. Good size. Handsome plain design with a gadroon ring border and decorative handle. Hand engraved to both sides is a lion crest on a chequered background within a decorative cartouche – all within an inset silver shield. Lovely crisp borders. Height 25 cms. Length 40 cms. Width 31 cms. Marked inside the handle with the double sun mark for Matthew Boulton, probably the most well known of all Old Sheffield plate makers. Circa 1820.
