A late 19th century Chinese export silver rose water sprinkler. The lower body and foot are finely chased with repousse floral decoration, and the tall slender top has a cast and applied bird with the little sprinkler holes. Weight 70 grams, 2.2 troy ounces. Height 16.5 cms. Stamped underneath with Chinese silver marks and makers mark MK.

The matching silver tea kettle stand has an ornate cast and pierced frieze with face masks, and stands on large shell feet; the detachable burner has a rise and fall wick. An excellent piece with heavy gauge silver and good colour. Hand engraved to the front is a large hand engraved armorial with the motto “Pro Rege Lege Grege”. All in the original leather covered carrying case. Each piece with an engraved monogram and crest. There is a similar set by Dr Christopher Dresser in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (see photos). Kettle height 9 cms (14.5 cms with handle), contains 1 pint. Teapot height 7.5 cms, contains half a pint. Stamped underneath with silver plate stamps for Hukin and Heath, a design number and a Victorian registration mark. Circa 1890.

A fine pair of antique sterling silver serving dishes with matching cushion shape covers and magnificent detachable lion mounted ring handles. Elegant plain styling with a broad band of ribbing and gadroon borders. Excellent quality and good gauge silver as you’d expect from this world famous English silversmith. The covers are mounted front and back with royal armorial plaques having the motto “Honi Soit Qui Mal YPense” and the crest of a centaur holding a bow and arrow. These are the arms of the Fitzmaurice family (the Marquesses of Lansdowne). The same armorial is hand engraved to the front and back of the bases. Silver weight 4021 grams, 129 troy ounces.
