    Of sporting interest. A magnificent antique sterling silver tea kettle (also known as a samovar or hot water kettle) with a scene of horses hunting to hounds. The kettle is all over decorated with flowers, foliage, scrolls and cast borders. It has a pretty flower lid finial and folding ivory handle. The matching silver tea kettle stand has an ornate cast and pierced frieze with flowers and leaves; the integral burner has a detachable cap to insert the oil and wick. An excellent piece with heavy gauge silver and good colour. Hand engraved to the top of the burner is a stag crest. Contains 1400 ml. Total weight 1945 grams, 62.5 troy ounces.     This is a stunning lot. A fine graduated set of William IV sterling silver meat dishes. Oval form with gadrooned borders. All pieces bearing the Maitland arms. Each dish has a hand engraved coat of arms on opposite edges. The dishes are mounted with a graduated set of matching Old Sheffield plated meat dish covers of plain oval outline with fluted borders and detachable handle. Each dome is hand engraved with a crest on one side and a coat of arms on the other. The complete set is contained in a fitted, iron-bound oak trunk. Excellent weight and gauge of silver.     8654 Antique Silver Knights on Horse Back

    A fantastic pair of antique German silver table ornaments in the form of large model knights in armour, each astride a galloping horse. Gilded silver (slightly worn) with jewelled beads. The knights have carved bakalite faces and helmets with hinged visors which can be opened and closed; in the right hand they each hold a jousting pole, or lance, and in the left they clasp the horse’s reins. The models are very intricate with many separate pieces assembled together. The bases have a naturalist finish. Although similar in size and stance, these models have slight differences. One horse carries a plume on the crest of its head whereas the other sports a bird figure on the head. Weight 1405 and 1411 grams, total weight 2816 grams, 90.5 troy ounces. Height 25 and 25.5cm.     A fine continental silver and rock crystal centrepiece representing the Birth of Venus. The silver has coloured enamel detail and the figural work is excellent. Fantastic large size and complete with the original leather carrying case. The central stem is modelled as a silver merman holding a rock crystal sphere containing an enamel seascape representing Venus emerging from a shell. The orb, with silver and enamel mounts, supports a merman blowing a horn. Height 33cm. Diameter of base 12.2cm. Probably Austrian. Late 19th century.

    A beautiful pair of antique opera glasses made of gilt brass metal and enamel. The binocular tops and extension knob are made of real mother of pearl. The pink enamel barrels are covered in gilt stars and have beaded cartouches and borders containing hand painted sprays of multi coloured flowers. The underside is inscribed “REG Armstrong 14.August 1884”. Measures – width 10.4 cm, closed height 6.3 cm, extended height 8.5 cm. Probably French. Circa 1884.     This is a superb solid silver galleon ship (traditionally known as a Nef), intricately modelled and shown in full sail. Excellent size and quality throughout. The top section of the Neff can be removed from the hull revealing an open compartment or space. The hull is finely chased with cherubs and leaves, flowers and scrolls. The ship stands on four dolphin mounted wheels. Weight 2445 grams, 78.6 troy ounces. Height 48cm. Spread 34cm. Width of large sail 20cm. Hull measures 30.5 x 11.5cm. Dutch silver stamps.     A large and substantial figure of a silver rider on horseback. Excellent quality and heavy gauge. Original gilt finish and jewelling to the clothing and horse harness. Natural stone base. The model is very intricate with many separate pieces assembled together. The head is removable. Weight 1180 grams, 37.9 troy ounces. This weight excludes the onyx base and the two silver hallmarked screw caps. It includes the weight of the two screws soldered to the bottom of the back hooves.     A delightful antique silver clock of waisted shape, sitting on four scroll feet, the case decorated with cast silver rococo mounts. Dainty size. The front is very beautiful having a pierced silver decoration, with a bird and flowers, over an inset panel of mother of pearl. The dial is very pretty and has multi coloured decoration. The hinged back panel opens to access the watch type movement. Height 10 cm. Width 5.5 cm. Marked inside the hinged panel with German silver marks, crown and moon, and the silver grade 800. To the left there is a small square mark with a wheel inside which may be the makers mark. Circa 1900
