A fine pair of antique sterling silver drum caddy boxes of plain circular form having hinged lids with flower finials. Bright internal gilding. These delightful tea boxes each have an engraved crest to the top together with the name of a tea, one has “GREEN” and the other has “BOHEA” (a Chinese black tea). The lids and body are hand engraved with intertwined foliage and swags of harebells. Weight 587 grams, 18.8 troy ounces. Height 9.5 cms. Diameter 10 cms. London 1772. Maker Thomas Justis.

A handsome antique silver coffee pot with a plain baluster shape raised on a pedestal foot. The quality of this piece is excellent and the most imposing feature is the graceful curved spout in the form of a horse’s head. Every attention has been paid to detail with broad decorative borders, applied mounts to the ends of the handle and base of the spout, and a large bird finial. Engraved on the base with an initial. Weight 950 grams, 30.5 troy ounces. Contains 1400 ml. Height 36 cms. Spread across spout and handle 23.5 cms. Marked with silver stamps for Naples silver grade 834. Makers mark RP for Raffaele Parascandolo. Circa 1850.

From a design by Dr Christopher Dresser. An antique silver plated automobile set beautifully arranged with many of the pieces slotting inside each other. All in the original leather covered carrying case. Each piece with an engraved monogram and crest. There is a similar set by Dr Christopher Dresser in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (see photos). Kettle height 9 cms (14.5 cms with handle), contains 1 pint. Teapot height 7.5 cms, contains half a pint. Stamped underneath with silver plate stamps for Hukin and Heath, a design number and a Victorian registration mark. Circa 1890.

A delightful antique sterling silver mug with embossed decoration of children and putti. Fantastic quality, even the handle is in the form of a putti, and there are face masks around the base. To the front is an ornamental cartouche (uninscribed). Original interior gilding. A magnificent pair of antique silver plated salts cast in the form of Neptune and his wife Amphitrite both riding on dolphins. Large size and excellent quality. Each figure is carrying a raised shell which forms the salt container (gilded inside). Heavy weight. The rocky design bases are encrusted with shells and other marine foliage and within the decoration each has a silver plate stamp. Circa 1860. Probably by Richard Hodd & William Linley.

A rare early English sterling silver porringer with matching lid having engraved decoration of cherubs, birds, flowers etc. This chinoiserie decoration was popular over about a ten year period – it is rarely found and adds considerably to the piece. Excellent colour. This charming piece has an armorial to the front and a crest to the reverse. This porringer was sold in 1961 by the famous silver expert Mrs G.E.P How of Pickering Place, St James, London and she describes it in the accompanying paperwork (see photos) as being “of a most unusual form” .I know of only three other examples of this work”. The pretty fluted stand is raised on tall shaped feet with a decorative border of looped harebell swags embellished with ribbons and classical motifs.
