    A delightful antique silver box in super crisp condition. The top is decorated in the traditional silver and black niello with two ladies listening to a young man playing a mandolin and, in the background, on gilt stippled ground with leaf borders. The base is equally beautiful with a lady playing the harpsichord, the listener sitting in an armchair. The interior has the original gilding. Weight 55 grams, 1.7 troy ounces. Top measures 6.25 x 4.5 cms. Height 1.4 cms. Top and bottom marked with Russian silver marks. Makers mark for Ivan Kaltykov, Moskow. Dated 1827.

    9028 Antique Nepalese Silver Teapot

    A large antique Tibetan or Nepalese silver teapot with a domed lid, originally attached with a chain, and matching teapot stand. Very heavy gauge silver. Interesting style combining both Indian and Chinese influences. The handle is modelled as a dragon’s head with a curved neck and scales, the spout has animal decoration, the body has traces of an engraved or embossed decoration. The teapot has an unusual base formation (see photos) which sits onto an elaborate matching stand. The lid and teapot stand both have a decorative circular motif. Contains 1400 ml. Weight 1393 grams, 44.7 troy ounces. Height 21 cms. Spread 29 cms. Stamped underneath with 2 characters, probably the makers mark. Circa 1900.
