A rare and collectable early silver caddy spoon in the form of a jockey cap. It has a ribbed design and a plain centre button with the initial “G” in old fashioned script. Weight 8 grams. A fantastic pair of antique German silver table ornaments in the form of large model knights in armour, each astride a galloping horse. Gilded silver (slightly worn) with jewelled beads. The knights have carved bakalite faces and helmets with hinged visors which can be opened and closed; in the right hand they each hold a jousting pole, or lance, and in the left they clasp the horse’s reins. The models are very intricate with many separate pieces assembled together. The bases have a naturalist finish. Although similar in size and stance, these models have slight differences. One horse carries a plume on the crest of its head whereas the other sports a bird figure on the head. Weight 1405 and 1411 grams, total weight 2816 grams, 90.5 troy ounces. Height 25 and 25.5cm. The bamboo style ivory handle mounted with a silver serpent to the top and a snake’s head and motif to the bottom are very characteristic of this prestigious English master silversmith. A rare pair of antique sterling silver sauceboats having a plain circular shape on an oval pedestal foot. Single lip. Extremely large and heavy weight. This is a very early date for a silver sauceboat, the first were introduced into England in circa 1715 and had a double lip, the single lipped boats started to appear circa 1730. An unusual feature is the model lion head at the top of the handle. Each jug has a hand engraved crest of a ship to one side, a lion crest to the other side. Good colour. Each contains 450 ml.
